Agrifactors
The farming business was set up in 1960 by Roland Davis, with the seed business following shortly after and is now run by his son Chris.
The business now has close to sixty years of accumulated experience practising what it preaches implementing best practice on our own farm to deliver the best results from new and well managed pastures and brassicas.
We have our own grass and seed mixing facility on site and proudly remain the last independent seed merchant in the south east, delivering expertise and quality whether you are on the South Downs or the Weald, we have the knowledge and experience to help you.
Our local clients include football and rugby clubs, schools, parish and district councils, private and corporate accounts.
With our 249 solar panels on one of the barns in the yard we produce enough electricity to supply all our needs during daylight hours with some to spare, a ground source heat pump provides heating and hot water for the office and home. At present we are carbon neutral, we are hoping to ultimately reduce our carbon footprint by using more electrical delivery and other vehicles to become less reliant on fossil fuels.
The farm also has suckler and follower cows and pedigree Poll Dorset Sheep, supplying the local butcher as much as possible. We are proud to keep happy stock and keep food miles to a minimum.
